About Us
Information about the purposes and objectives of the Spanish Committee on Automation.
The Spanish Committee on Automation (CEA) is a Spanish scientific association that promotes the development, research, and university teaching of automation, encompassing aspects such as automation, control, robotics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. It was founded in 1968 and brings together researchers, professors, and professionals in the field at a national level. Since 1977, the committee has held the annual Automation Conference, gathering researchers and industry experts to present the latest advances in automation, and it publishes the Ibero-American Journal of Automation and Industrial Informatics (RIAI), which has been published in Spanish since 2004 and serves as a bridge for scientific exchange with the Ibero-American community.
This association is open to all individuals and institutions interested in the theoretical and practical aspects of automation, process control, and all new technologies that enable the implementation of modern automatic control systems, including sensors, actuators, and control elements.
CEA has an executive body, the 'Board of Directors,' which is renewed in halves every two years. The assembly body (General Assembly) is responsible for electing the representatives of the Board of Directors in an extraordinary meeting, with the participation of all members.
